Collecting Miles
The name: While training for the Philadelphia Marathon (2012), I would repeat the phrase "collecting fast miles" over and over to myself while doing any hard runs or speedwork. I was collecting fast miles to make race day easier. However, not all coaching miles are fast miles, so I shortened my phrase to to create Collecting Miles coaching.

My running history: I started running in the Fall of 2009 after I decided to sign up for my first half marathon. I jumped right in and went for something way longer than I had ever run before! I was following a basic training plan, and didn't really have a goal for myself, until the starting line. I decided that I wanted to finish sub-2. I had no idea what half marathon pace was at this time and I probably wasn't even wearing the right shoes for me. But after I crossed that finish line, I was hooked. I began devouring any running information, stories and tips I could. In just over two years, I dropped over 14 minutes off my half marathon time and ran my first marathon, where I qualified for the Boston Marathon. I have also run several 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and distances in between. With hard work, the right guidance and motivation, anything is possible!
